Rebecca Roba – 2024 Ethiopian Community Ambassador
Rebecca Roba was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA, in July 2006. She is 17 years old. She is the second of three children from her parents, who immigrated from Ethiopia. Rebecca is a first-generation immigrant. She grew up in the USA until age 3, until her family and she moved to Fort Erie, ON. Rebecca formerly attended St. Philomena Catholic Elementary School until graduation. She is enrolled at Greater Fort Erie Secondary School in her Senior year. She anticipates attending nursing school and earning a Bachelor of Science at Niagara College upon graduation. Throughout her life, she has gravitated towards a career that involved science as she is fascinated by the fast technological advancements surrounding medicine. Deciding on this career choice was made simple because of the guidance and support from her older sister and mother. During her free time, she loves to paint, draw, crochet, read, play piano, and spend time with loved ones. Rebecca has regularly volunteered and attended Ethio-Canadian cultural activities since discovering the community in 2021.
